Jewish children currently attending public school, they don't have to be actively attending a Hebrew school as they can learn at home as well.

Children attending a Jewish day school will be able to join the CKids shabbaton but won't be able to be featured in the live gameshow at the international championship in NY.

There is a special track for 8th grade as well

No, children do not need to know Hebrew. JewQ focuses on general Jewish knowledge, and all the material is written in English. Whenever Hebrew text appears, it is always provided together with a translation.

No. Each grade has its own specific requirements. See here for the Learning Requirements; the breakdown of the book by grade, and the parts that do not need to be memorized.

It depends on the grade. Each grade has its own focus area:

• Grade 3: Jewish prayers — their history, meaning, and how they are practiced.

• Grade 4: Fundamental verses from the Torah, along with special mitzvos.

• Grade 5: The Jewish calendar and all of the holidays.

• Grade 6: The Jewish lifecycle and key concepts in Judaism, such as the Land of Israel and how the Torah was passed down from generation to generation.

• Grade 7: Great Jewish heroes and what they were known for.

Some children may feel nervous, but JewQ is designed to be fun and rewarding, not stressful. With the study guide and coordinator support, most students do very well. Only a 70% is needed to pass and earn prizes, and if your child needs extra support, your local JewQ Coordinator can help.
